Mr. Thrifty Tip #4: If you can match the fare of a travel site book your flight on the airline’s site

Ok. You have found the best airline ticket fare on a travel website. Go ahead and book things right? WRONG. Right before you book, go directly to the specific airline website and see if can find the same fare there. If so, book your airline tickets directly on the airline site rather than on the travel agency site. By doing so, you will save yourself the $6.99 booking fee that the travel sites now charge you for booking through them. Also, many airlines will give you bonus frequent flyer miles for booking directly through their website. Hmmm… lets see, no fees and more frequent flyer miles… hmmmm….
