Mr. Thrifty Principle #5: Only deal with movers who are members of the Better Business Bureau

There are several easy ways in which one can investigate the reputation and quality of movers. The first and best is the Better Business Bureau (BBB). This is an absolute must! Only deal with movers who are members in good standing with the BBB. The BBB can be a powerful advocate should anything go wrong. Since many consumers check with the BBB prior to purchasing, reputable movers will work hard to keep a good reputation.  Should something go wrong with your move, filing a compliant with the BBB will generally get a prompt response from the offending company.

You can find the BBB online at www.bbb.org. All you need to run a check on a company is their phone number or name and location. The online tool is easy to use and fairly intuitive.
